Hearn needs brush up on US history

While Lacey Councilman Jason Hearn is recovering from the sting of public opinion over his comments about Muslims and President Obama, he might take time to read some American history. He would discover that there would be no United States if the founders of our nation hadn't agreed to allow freedom of religion.

Catholic Maryland, Quaker Pennsylvania, and various mixes of Presbyterian, Episcopalian and other faiths in the other colonies could never have come together without toleration of each others' faiths. The question, Mr. Hearn, isn't whether President Obama is Muslim. But if he were, what possible bearing it could have on his right to serve as president?
