Political correctness is running amok

Lacey Councilman Hearn's recent comments made on Facebook and reported in Saturday's Olympian, that many felt he needed to apologize for, is a classic example of political correctness run amok and is destroying this country.

Personally, there was nothing in the three statements reported by The Olympian that he made that I found offensive or untrue and find the need for any apology to be complete balderdash.

Sadly, we are becoming a nation where so many people's feelings are ruffled by what should be considered an innocuous comment.

What next, "thought police" that will be monitoring and fining us for what we think?
