Mullen Road underpass flood has pollution risks

There have been several articles and letters concerning the flooding on Mullen Road Southeast under the railroad bridge. For two winters, this section of road has been underwater almost continuously.

I am concerned about the pollution from oil products that have washed off the bottom of vehicles into the water and surrounding soil. This area is between Pattison and Long lakes, which is where this oil and gasoline must settle.

I do not believe raising the road a few inches will solve the problem since the flooding is over the curb for months at a time.

Looking for a better solution seems prudent to me.
