Realty industry rant on regulations one-sided
I was disappointed with the one-sided reporting of Rolf Boone in his March 24 article, “County real estate experts raise regulation concerns.”
It is not surprising that a group of corporate developers and realtors would argue for looser environmental regulations and building codes. What is surprising is the lack of balance in the article.
I do not claim to be a development expert, but appropriate regulation and zoning laws help protect Thurston County farmlands and neighborhoods from being replaced with sprawling, nondescript tract housing.
I hope future reporting reflects the complexity of this issue.
