Didn't get response hewanted from Sen. Murray

I read a letter noting our U.S. Sen. Patty Murray does not listen. I will recount a true encounter with her staff about two years ago.

I called her office locally about a problem that concerned me; the topic was not critically important but the response by her staff was disturbing. A staffer answered my call and before I could say anything she asked me “who are you with?”

I said I am a private citizen with a political concern. The receptionist put me on hold for a few seconds and then said to me “ sorry, we do not have time for you” and then hung up. My interpretation of this attitude is that unless you have some money to donate and are part of a big organization, you will not get to communicate to Sen. Murray.

At least our state representatives and senators will listen to my calls; that is their duty.

I have voted for Patty Murray several times in the past but now I feel that the public needs to look at a more responsive candidate.
