North Thurston needs local leadership

Considering the amount of money the North Thurston school district gives the Lacey Parks and Recreation Department each year, they might just as well call it the Lacey Parks and Recreation School Dist. The school district subsidizes the Lacey Parks by tens of thousands of dollars a year and have been for years.

Not only that they have shut down the private park that competed with the city's park across the street. I am awfully glad that the present superintendent is leaving.

I feel the North Thurston district has been on a decline ever since Dr. Gott retired and will continue to do so if they don't bring in leadership that have ties to the Lacey community. I was a student at North Thurston when it opened in 1955 and at this point,I'm ashamed to admit it.
