Eliminate some parking downtown

Am I the only one who is finding it more difficult driving downtown Olympia during the daytime? Sadly, with the recent accident involving two seniors I can understand how this might have happened. It is quite confusing to see all that is ahead and around - the parked cars along Capitol and Columbia streets block some view of the pedestrians crossing.

Some folks “run” across on the final seconds of the red hand sign - the impatient ones! I understand the businesses might not approve but perhaps by eliminating parking on the two main streets from Second through Fifth from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during weekdays (like the no turn bus signs posted) would make it much safer for both cars and pedestrians.
