Nature needs everyone to act
Thank you for the fine Olympian Editorial Board piece tying together Procession of the Species and Earth Day,but I especially appreciate your support for Initiative 732 to limit carbon emissions.
The poet Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote in 1878 “Nature is never spent/ There lives the dearest freshness deep down things.”
What he didn’t say is that it will take an active citizenry and focused love of our planet to ensure that nature is indeed not spent. Please continue to take a stance -- the more often the better -- to nudge Olympia to act.
