Republicans need to support Kasich

I urge my fellow Republicans to support John Kasich in the May 24 state presidential primary. This is not an exercise in futility because the likely contested national convention may turn to a dark horse for the nomination rather than running either of the party’s top two unelectable contenders. Every delegate counts.

John Kasich served nine distinguished terms in Congress. He is a respected leader who worked across the aisles, gaining immeasurable, valuable experience in foreign affairs and budgetary matters. After time in the private sector, he was elected as governor of Ohio and as a principled conservative, let the way to prosperity in his state.

He was overwhelmingly re-elected because he governed as a centrist, understanding that problem-solving happens in the middle, not the extreme ideological edges and that true leaders represent all of their constituents, not just the loudest or angriest or most partisan.

Look at his opponents: Donald Trump is a spoiled, pompous, bullying brat who has alienated a majority of probable general election voters and has no shot to win in November. Ted Cruz, though bright and articulate, is a slave to the Tea Party wing and gains no traction with moderate and independent voters, who always decide elections in America.

Finally, polls show that John Kasich is the only Republican, other Marco Rubio, who can defeat the Democratic finalists, which is imperative. Get aboard, GOP, before it’s too late.
