I was Michael Steadman's battalion commander in the United States Marine Corps while he was with Fourth Landing Support Battalion. Michael was and is a Marine, regardless of his duty status.

The recent criticism of Councilman Steadman's Marine Corps service is unjustified and without merit. Michael stepped up and served during a time of national crisis and remains committed to serving his community.
