Use voting power against superdelegates
This whole thing concerning gerrymandering, voting restrictions and the use of computers in our elections is just plain wrong and everyone knows it. The same thing is true about the existence of superdelegates in the Democratic party who have the ability to defy the will of the people by changing the outcome of our elections.
I think Gig Harbor attorney Andrew Williams has the right idea by initiating an effort to withdraw funding from those superdelegates who go against the will of the majority in order to keep the leadership of the party under their control. In fact we should take this one step further by remembering to vote out those elected representatives that are going against the will of their constituents and changing the outcome of our elections. In our current nomination process this includes Governor Jay Inslee, Senators Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, and Representatives Susan DelBene and Denny Heck.
If we use the power of our votes to force out elected officials to represent us instead of selling us out, perhaps we can actually make our government one of, by and for the people and keep out country free and democratic. If we do nothing to stop this abuse, however, we might as well kiss our free and democratic society good bye.
