Islam well represented at vigil

I appreciate the Olympian coverage of the vigil on Sunday night at Sylvester Park in response to the Orlando massacre, but the coverage failed to mention one very significant point.

There was a gentleman who spoke during the vigil who identified himself as from the Olympia Islamic Center. The gentleman spoke with eloquence and compassion, and stated that a massacre such as this has nothing to do with Islam and everything to do with hate. He stated that Islam teaches that we are all brothers and sisters on this planet and must treat each other with love and respect.

This gentleman had the courage and conviction to attend this vigil and speak his mind, and I think his words should be heard beyond just the few hundred people who were in attendance.
