Shameful political leadership
After over 50 years as a registered voter in this country, I think it is a shame that a nation of over 300 million people, arguably the greatest and most enlightened nation on this planet, can only offer the three presidential candidates we have before us.
We should demand more of a political process to produce a leader of our government and the world that we can trust and be proud of. We have suffered long enough. None of these three should be trusted with the control of our nuclear defensive forces, the lives of our military forces nor the political decisions necessary to put our country on a path of prosperity to solve the major issues facing all of us.
Where are the Jeffersons, Lincolns, Roosevelts, Trumans, Reagans, and Kennedys of our past? Our current elected sate and federal officials are characterized by traits of self-centered megalomania and their own self-interests. We are routinely lied to and manipulated to serve their interests.
The press corps has failed us terribly by being unwilling to ferret out the truth and remaining independent. They are nothing more than shills for the respective political parties. We are too polarized as a nation and must correct that problem if we are to survive. We owe that to the people that built this great nation, our children and future generations.
We haven’t been very good custodians of our heritage and need to fix that now.
