A special child enjoys life
I was allowed a first time experience of spending time with a “preemie.” Tiny Tyler, who was born three months early, weighed in at 2 lb. 7 oz. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Tacoma General Hospital took every measure to save his life.
Tubes. Breathing therapy. Mother’s milk. Three months later he was released to thrive and grow at home. Three months after that, at the age of six months — this healthy, bright and alert little boy was given a baby shower.
It did not miss me, that while this special child was saved, across town another life was taken through abortion; not considered worthy of fighting for. It did not miss me, that our female candidate for the presidency considers late term abortion justifiable “for medical reasons” which can be interpreted a number of ways. It did not miss me. And little Tyler will not miss the opportunity of living a full and meaningful life.
