Dolan would be a winner for us all
There may not be a more qualified candidate for State Legislature anywhere than Laurie Dolan for the 22nd District.
A first grade teacher for five years in a very poor neighborhood in Spokane, she has seen how poverty and uncertainty crushes families. Her fellow educators selected her to represent them in school district negotiations and after a few years, district management decided they wanted her on their side and made her an administrator. She never abandoned teachers but ended her career as assistant superintendent for eight years, responsible for one-third of Spokane’s schools. In light of the McCleary decision and other school problems, having a representative with a clear understanding of schools would be a plus for us in the 22nd.
In 2004 Governor Gregoire asked her to come to Olympia to be director of policy, and for the next four years she worked with the legislature representing the governor and engaging the legislative process from a policy standpoint. She understands how the legislature works front to back.
When she knocks on your door, she’ll listen and learn, if you have something you want to tell her.
She will be a terrific representative in the legislature for all of us.
