Cyrus Habib brings a fresh approach

Cyrus Habib stands out with a bipartisan approach to politics and his background explains why. As a child of immigrants seeking a better life in the United States, you grow up learning the importance of inclusivity. You learn to live and work with people of different backgrounds, and now in Cyrus’ professional career as a state senator—political views-- when working on the Hill. Prioritizing inclusivity and having the ability to work across the aisle will be advantageous for our diverse state, and this is why I am voting for Cyrus Habib in his race for lieutenant governor.

Many people think of the lieutenant governor as ceremonial position— Cyrus has introduced ideas to allow it to become a forum for inclusion and abiding by the Constitution. For example, this past year he authored legislation to allow people to testify remotely. This is particularly important for our neighbors in cities across the state who can’t afford to take a day off of work to drive down here to Olympia. This legislation would allow people to be heard on important issues that affect us.

In the Legislature, Cyrus has championed the most important issues impacting our state, fighting to fund education for every Washington child, and prime-sponsoring the Washington Voting Rights Act so that communities of color are equally represented in state government.

Cyrus brings a fresh approach to make government work better for all Washingtonians, and I urge your support of him to be our next Lieutenant Governor.
