Progressives are anti-science

For years now, Democrats have castigated Republicans for being “anti-science.” But it seems the opposite is true; progressives are the ones who ignore solid research and scientific evidence. A few examples follow:

“Global warming:” Most of the data regarding this issue does not support the alarmist conclusions of progressives, because those conclusions are based upon conjecture associated with seriously flawed computer modeling. The vast majority of predictions in the past twenty-five years regarding “catastrophic” global warming have proved false.

“Genetically Modified Organisms:” Although there is no significant evidence indicating harm to human health associated with GMOs, progressives continue to call for legislation either banning such products or labeling them.

“Fracking:” Hydraulic fracturing has produced enormous economic benefits, lowering fuel bills and making America more energy independent. Despite liberals' criticisms, there is little evidence over the past sixty years indicating environmental harm from this process.

Sexual issues: Progressives treat homosexuality as an immutable trait similar to race. Yet the facts are clear that homosexuality is not immutable and thousands who were previously practicing homosexuals are now exclusively heterosexual. There is very little evidence, if any, indicating that homosexuality has a genetic cause. Also, many liberals' views on issues related to same-sex marriage and transgenderism are also refuted by competent empirical studies.

Despite strong scientific evidence and relevant research findings that do not support their views, progressives deny that evidence and instead draw conclusions based more on their emotions and passions than on facts and reality.
