Health care narrative not the answer

Some of us Republicans will hold our noses and vote for Trump. Some of us Democrats will hold our noses and vote for Clinton.

Regardless of the choice for president, one topic that surely will be volleyed back and forth and ground to death between the candidates is Obamacare. Should the Affordable Care Act be dumped or maintained and improved? Some of us have strong views on the matter and readily voice them when the topic comes up. Obamacare is Socialism! Health care access is a right!

I want to encourage those for and those against Obamacare to take a deep breath and pause before further expressing their particular view. I ask you to get a copy of T.R. Reid’s 2010 book, “The Healing of America.” Most of us who either support or decry Obamacare base our views on mere political narrative and/or few facts as to what a country’s access to health care should be. This quick read book will give you the information you need to support your point of view, or maybe change it.

The author took his medical problem around the world to different countries to find which one has the best system to get care and a cure for his damaged and painful right shoulder. Find out which countries really have a “socialist” system and which ones can get you in to see a doctor faster and get treatment/surgery cheaper. Find out where the U.S. places among other countries for best access.
