Feels like anarchy in Olympia’s downtown

As a longtime resident in Olympia I was extremely disappointed with the City Council’s non-feasance with regard to the widespread homeless people sleeping on city sidewalks in the downtown area.

No porta-potties to keep the area sanitary. Walking through the area made me feel like the area has become a refuge for refugees with no home and nothing to do but mingle and bring down the once vibrant and pedestrian friendly community.

How can the City Council be proud of this horrific situation? People need a place to pitch a tent- not roll out a sleeping bag on the sidewalk!

If the council is gonna punt they should do the honorable thing and resign! Let a new group pick up and do something more noble for these nomads and give them some dignity.
