Letters to the Editor

About Democrats, ‘idiots’ who vote

A few weeks ago David Kunkel wrote a letter to the editor demeaning all Democratic voters as idiots. After having watched both the Republican and Democrat conventions, one of doom and gloom and the other optimistic and uplifting, I find his name-calling thought process for people who disagree with his political views childish.

If he was trying to defend his political party’s candidate for president of the United States, his literary dialogue was immature at best. Mr.Trump wants to be fascist and is a classic narcissist; whereby the biggest words in his social vocabulary are I, me and mine.

He wasn’t even in the same league as the Democratic Party’s candidate, who spoke as a mature adult about solving real world problems, not name-calling. Her acceptance speech about trying to make a better and more secure world, ringing loud and true, was spoken with meaningful (plural) words — of we, us and them.

A comparison of her, and all who disagree with Mr. Trump’s simplistic, dangerous views of the world, with unfortunate people who suffer from severe mental retardation highlights a person who is not armed with facts.
