Thurston man held at mental facility
One doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry concerning the detained man’s predicament and ongoing incarceration. Due to his mental health situation, the government continues to treat his life like a hot potato, primarily because we live in a “pass buck the society.”
We do know that no matter what the decision in his case, there will be several lawyers lining up for their 40 percent of an expected, future settlement. That’s should Mr. Jalil-Al-Ghadir be released — to commit a crime or continue to remain locked up because his constitutional rights are being trampled. We can complete this three ring circus if an interested cleric will come forth and ask, “What would Jesus do in this case?”
It’s a shame we live in an age where responsible agencies truly want to address and solve these problems, yet are afraid to render their solutions because they fear the over-zealous, opportunistic lawyers who are out to make a buck, based on their interpretations of human missteps. Remember, this is a profession based solely on seeking opportunities to sue and if it were legally possible, one law firm would gladly represent both sides of a suit. (win-win).
Let’s move forward with this problem and not allow ourselves to be micro-managed by the legal profession. Since it doesn’t really care about Mr. Jalil-Al-Ghadr, perhaps we should!
