Downing’s financial skill can help Olympia port

I support Joe Downing for Port of Olympia commissioner, district 1. Downing has a wide range of experience and skills he’d bring to this important community position.

His experience is a solid mix of private and public sector positions in logistics and financial analysis, both of which are clearly relevant to the Port of Olympia. In a public service role, Downing has served six years on the port Citizens Advisory Committee and in that time has learned about the Port’s capabilities and opportunities. Downing’s demonstrated skills include financial analysis, disciplined thinking and an ability to build team consensus. Downing’s friendly but competitive high energy nature will serve the port and greater Thurston County well as it grows South Sound jobs, innovation and prosperity in the 21st century.
