Bainbridge Island Winter Wonderland

What: This is the first year for this holiday celebration. The festivities are offered through a partnership among Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District, city of Bainbridge Island, Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce, Bainbridge Island Downtown Association and Puget Sound Energy.

When: 5-8 p.m. Saturday.

Where: Waterfront Park, 370 Brien Drive, Bainbridge Island.

What to do: The night will include light features, a snow feature, holiday crafts, a visit by Santa Claus, balloon clowns, face painting, wrapping paper decorating, holiday music, ice sculptures, s’mores with the Squad, cider and cookies, a lighted boat parade and live reindeer.

Earlier in the day: In downtown Bainbridge Island during the day, beginning at 10 a.m., there will be carolers, holiday music, and horse and buggy rides, in addition to shopping and dining. Children can search for stuffed elves hidden at 35 downtown businesses. If they collect at least 10 stamps by Dec. 24, they can receive a small treat.
