Panel to discuss speed limits on lake
The Pierce County Boating Advisory Commission will hold a public meeting to discuss a possible change in the speed limit regulations for Ohop Lake.
There is an 8 mph speed limit on the lake, except for the hours between 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. A proposal has been made to change the exemption hours to 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
The meeting is being held to discuss the issue only and there will not be a binding vote the night of the meeting. The meeting will be held March 17 at 7 p.m. at Eatonville Middle School, 207 Carter St. E., Eatonville.
The 235-acre lake is one mile north of Eatonville. It is open to fishing from the last Saturday of April to Oct. 31 and has a state Department of Fish and Wildlife boat launch.
