Seen something strange in Thurston County skies? We want to hear about your experiences
Washington residents have reported 42 individual sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena across the state in 2023, from hovering balls of light to bright aircraft moving horizontally and vertically across the sky.
The reports are filed to the National UFO Reporting Center, which has received nearly 7,000 reports of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) — the new term used by the United States government for unidentified flying objects (UFOs) — since the center began tracking reports online in 1994.
In the 29 years since NUFORC began tracking reports online, that’s an average of about 241 reports per year. With all these sightings, you can’t help but think... maybe something is up there.
So, we want to hear from you.
Have you seen something that doesn’t seem quite right in the sky that you think may have been a UAP? If you’ve seen something, please fill out our survey below, and you may be featured in a future story for The Olympian.
If you have photos or video, please continue to complete the below survey and email the images separately with your name to Sgoodwin@Idahostatesman.com.
