Blues and Seafood Festival
WHAT: The annual event is a chance to listen to jazz and enjoy seafood from local restaurants.
WHEN: 5-10 p.m. Aug. 14 and 4:30-10 p.m. Aug. 15.
WHERE: Port of Ilwaco, 165 Howerton Ave., Ilwaco.
AUG. 14 LINEUP: Papa Rocket will kick things off at 5:15 p.m., followed by North Coast Blues and the Cadillac Horns at 6:30 p.m. and The Randy Oxford Band featuring Lady A at 8 p.m. There will be a special all-star jam and trombone fest afterward.
AUG. 15 LINEUP: First on the stage will be The Strange Tones with the Volcano Vixens at 5 p.m. The Ken DeRouchie band will perform at 6:45 p.m. Hamilton Lewis will wrap up the music schedule at 8:30 p.m.
FOOD COURT: Long Beach Peninsula seafood providers will have booths set up at the event. There also will be local microbrews and regional wines for purchase.
ADMISSION: Tickets for Aug. 14 are $15. Tickets for Aug. 15 are $25. You also can purchase a combination ticket, which includes admission to the Jazz & Oysters Festival in Nachotta, for $55.
JAZZ & OYSTERS: This is the 30th year for the festival. The jazz lineup includes the Mel Brown Quartet, Geno Michaels & Soul City, and The Dan Balmer Trio. Attendees also can eat oysters and other offerings from the area’s restaurants. The festival will run from noon-5 p.m. Aug. 15.
