Visit Bremerton’s Blackberry Festival Sept. 5-7
Blackberry Festival
WHAT: The 26th annual event will take place along the waterfront in Bremerton. The three-day festival includes the Berry Fun Run, foot-ferry rides, beer garden, food and craft vendors, and live music.
WHEN: Sept. 5-7.
WHERE: Bremerton Boardwalk, 100 Washington Beach Blvd., Bremerton.
A RUNNING START: A 5k fun run will kick off the festival Sept. 5. There also will be a 1-mile run and a kids dash.
WINGS AND WHEELS: For the 19th year, the festival will include a fly-in and car show. It will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 5 at Bremerton National Airport. Rides in airplanes and helicopters will be offered and there will be an aerial demonstration by the Northwest Beechboys. There also will be a classic car show.
ENTERTAINMENT: The schedule includes Mr. Mario the Funny Man, Navy Band Northwest “Puget Sound Machine,” Fabulous Roof Shakers (rock and blues) and Kevin Wolfe (magic).
FOOD: Vendors will be offering all types of food, including blackberry items. New this year will be a blackberry dessert wine.
ADMISSION: Free, but there is a charge for some events.
SHUTTLES: A shuttle will operate from the Bremerton Transportation Center to the airport, as well as from Olympic College. Rides are $2 each way. The foot ferry will run between Bremerton and Port Orchard all three days of the festival.
