Tumwater’s Fit Life Studio staging run to support wildland firefighters

Tumwater’s Fit Life Studio will host its second 9/11 Run on Sept. 12 in Lacey and is dedicating the 4-mile run to supporting wildland firefighters.

“(It is) an opportunity to show our support to those east of the mountains who are endlessly working to save our homes and towns,” said Tessa Effland of Fit Life.

Effland says all of the profits from the race will go to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to support wildland firefighters and their families when they’re injured or killed in the line of duty.

The Lacey Fire Department is scheduled to attend and start the event with a sirens from one of its trucks.

The event starts at Top Rung Brewing Company, 8343 Hogum Bay Ln NE. The brewery is owned by a pair of firefighters. Registration is $36.97 for those 21 and older and $16.37 for those younger than 21 if they register at eventbrite.com by Sept. 4. Day-of-race registration is $40.
