Olympia bike team hosting 2-hour ride Sept. 26 for cyclists looking to race, improve skills
Olympia’s CBC Racing/Olympia Orthopaedic Associates Cycling Team is hosting its Meet the Team Ride on Sept. 26 at Tumwater Falls Park. Cyclists meet at 9:45 a.m and will depart at 10 a.m. to ride 20-30 miles at a social pace. The team expects the ride to last about two hours.
The non-profit club has about 80 members who participate in road, mountain bike and cyclocross racing. The men and women of the group range from those dabbling in the sport to those competing in national and wor
ld competitions. Four members recently competed at the Masters National Championships in Utah and two finished in the top five in their age groups. Club members also volunteers at local cycling and running events.
The Sept. 26 ride is deisgned for cyclists looking to improve their skills or who are interested in joining the team. “Joining the team is a great way to meet other passionate cyclists and improve ones own skills,” said team spokesman Ron Jones.
