1 Talk birds, drink a brew

2Winter officially arrives

The December solstice will mark the official start of winter; the solstice occurs when the south pole will be tilted toward the sun, and the sun will have reached its southernmost position in the sky and will be directly over the Tropic of Capricorn; 8:48 p.m. Monday.


3Intro to 3-D printing

4Watch the movie ‘Elf’

5Join the Jingle Bell Run

Bring the kids, bring the relatives, but come and run off some of that holiday energy; 3-mile run/walk; costume contest; start times at 10 a.m. and noon Thursday; Wright Park, 316 S. G St., Tacoma; registration is $10 through Sunday (Dec. 20), $15 Monday-Tuesday and $20 day of the race; metroparkstacoma.org.


6A Victorian holiday
