Winter Rendezvous III
What: This three-day event is for boaters, non-boaters, residents and visitors. There are a host of events, many of them free, including an art walk, poker run, pickled herring expo and historical tours.
When: Feb. 12-14.
Where: Poulsbo.
Event highlight: The opening ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Feb. 13. The Poulsbo Vikings will light a bonfire to help keep visitors warm. There also will be free coffee, cider and cookies. The Glogg Fest will be from 1-3 p.m. that day. You can go to seven locations to sample free glogg — Nordic spiced wine. The poker run will take place at the same time. Fans of pickled herring will want to visit the Marina Market from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. to learn about the famed dish. Shops will be open until 8 p.m. for the art walk.
Lovers & Liquors Valentine Expo: This is a chance to sample libations created by award-winning vintners, distillers and cider makers. Scheduled to be there is Chip Hanauer, famed hydroplane racer. It will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Sons of Norway in Poulso. Tickets are $20 each and include 10 tastings and a souvenir glass.
Cost: Admission is free. There is a charge for some events.
