Celebrate Marysville

WHAT: Activities will give visitors a chance to experience what life was like in the 1890s as the city of Marysville celebrates its 125th birthday. Events include period games, pie eating, demonstrations, live music and a fireworks show.

WHEN: 1-7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday.

WHERE: Ebey Waterfront Park, 1404 First St., Marysville.

SPECIAL SHOWS: There will be a logging show by West Coast Lumberjack Shows at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. There will be live concerts at 2:30 (Conner Worley) and 5:30 p.m. (Tiller’s Folly). The fireworks will begin about 7:30 p.m.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: There will a number of turn-of-the-century demonstrations including blacksmithing, soap making and Victorian jewelry making. There also will be arts-and-craft vendors, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, photo booth and kids activities. The Sunrise Rotary Club will hold a log float raffle.

SUNDAY EVENT: There will be an open house at 1:30 p.m., followed by the Mayor’s Gala to mark the opening of the Marysville Opera House. Tiller’s Folly will also perform at the gala. Tickets for the gala are $20 each.

ADMISSION: Free. There is a charge for the Mayor’s Gala.
