Children’s songwriter Eric Ode will celebrate Dr. Seuss with “The Doctor’s in the House, Dr. Seuss That Is,” as he participates in the “Books and Blanket” event; for all ages; 6 p.m. Tuesday; White Pass Elementary School, Randle; free; trl.org.

There will be a penumbral lunar eclipse, where the moon moves through the fainter outer portion of the Earth’s shadow; in this type of eclipse, the moon will darken slightly but not completely; it will be visible, weather permitting, along the West Coast; will reach its maximum at 4:47 a.m. Wednesday.

Volunteers are needed to help restore Wapato Park; participants should bring gloves, appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes and a willingness to get dirty; tools and litter bags will be provided; 9 .m.-noon Saturday; Wapato Park, 6500 S.
