1 Green River bike ride

The Captiol Volkssport Club will lead a 25-kilometer bike ride along the Green River; start at 9:15 a.m., Hampton Inn, 7200 S. 156th St. Tukwila; group will have lunch at a nearby restaurant; capitolvolkssportclub.org.


2Watch the meteor shower

The Eta Aquarids is considered an above-average shower, producing up to 30 meteors per hour at its peak; the shower is produced by dust particles left behind by comet Halley, which has known and observed since ancient times; the shower reach its peaks Wednesday night and early Thursday; a new moon means skies will be dark, making viewing easier.


3Trout management talk

Larry Phillips, inland fish program manager for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, will give a program in trout fishing management; he will talk at the meeting of the South Sound chapter of Puget Sound Anglers; 7 p.m. Thursday; Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Ave. SE, Lacey; free and open to the public; sschapterpsa.com.


4Plant sale festival

5Puyallup comic convention

6Mother’s Day family paddle
