Sequim Lavender Festival
What: The 20th annual event in Sequim, touting itself as the lavender capital of North America, includes farm tours, a street fair, entertainment and food.
When: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
Where: In and around Sequim.
Free farm tour: There will be seven farms in the area open each day from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Participating will be Blackberry Forest, Earth Muffin Lavender, Nelson’s Duck Pond & Lavender Farm, Graymarsh Berry Farm, Fat Cat garden and Gifts, Kitty B’s Lavender Farm and Peninsula Nurseries. You can pick up a map at the street fair, any of the farms or find it online.
Street fair: There will be more than 150 juried arts and craft booths on Fir Street between Sequim and Third avenues. There will be booths selling products made by members of the Sequim Lavender Growers Association, which organizes the festival. There will be entertainment each day at the main stage, plus a street dance from 7-9 p.m. Saturday. The street fair includes a food court.
For the kids: The kids’ area will include a miniature-golf course ($5 a person), a photo booth, face painting, music and dancing. There also will be a scavenger hunt.
