Suns Make Devin Booker Decision Before Trail Blazers Play-In Game

The Phoenix Suns enter Tuesday's Western Conference play-in matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers with their postseason hopes on the line.

After finishing the regular season with a 45-37 record, Phoenix now faces a single-game opportunity to secure the No. 7 seed and advance into the playoffs, where they'd meet the San Antonio Spurs in a first-round matchup.

Phoenix could lose and still have another chance at cracking the postseason picture by facing the loser of the No. 9-10 seeds play-in matchup later.

Even then, the Suns would appreciate punching their playoff tickets as soon as possible. However, Phoenix has dealt with a series of late-season lineup changes mostly geared toward player health and load management during the final stretch of the regular season.

Several contributors, including franchise player Devin Booker, were held out of the final regular-season games. In Booker's case, the guard most recently missed Friday and Sunday's outings.

The absence came amid injury management tied to his right ankle, but the situation took a turn for the better ahead of Tuesday's matchup.

Booker is no longer listed in the Suns' injury report and will be available for the game against Portland.

The 29-year-old guard finished the regular season averaging 26.1 points, six assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game while appearing in 64 matchups.

Booker's availability is part of a broader injury update for the Suns, with no players injured, other than Grayson Allen, in Tuesday morning's injury report.

Allen, however, is carrying a "questionable" designation into the game, listed with "injury/illness" related to a sore left hamstring.

Phoenix will host Portland on Tuesday night, with the winner earning the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
