Report: NFL Insider Dianna Russini Rescued Driver In Serious Car Accident
NFL insider Dianna Russini is back in the headlines this Friday, but this time around it's for a heartwarming reason.
Russini found herself at the center of a major controversy last Tuesday when Page Six shared photos of her holding hands with New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel. Those pictures were taken at a hotel in Arizona prior to the NFL's annual league meeting.
Just days after The Athletic announced that it was investigating Russini's trip to Arizona, she resigned from her role with the publication.
"This media frenzy is hurtling forward without regard for the review process The Athletic is trying to complete. It continues to escalate, fueled by repeated leaks, and I have no interest in submitting to a public inquiry that has already caused far more damage than I am willing to accept," Russini said in her resignation letter. "Rather than allowing this to continue, I have decided to step aside now - before my current contract expires on June 30. I do so not because I accept the narrative that has been constructed around this episode, but because I refuse to lend it further oxygen or to let it define me or my career."
While fans wait for an update on The Athletic's investigation, Russini is apparently doing her best to help out those in need.
Russini was at the scene of a serious crash this week.
Patch reported Wednesday that a Jeep flipped onto its side after being struck by a Honda Civic at around 5 p.m. in Wyckoff, New Jersey. According to Page Six, this accident happened right in front of Russini's vehicle.
The former insider for The Athletic reportedly got out of her car to help the 73-year-old Jeep driver and his dog.
"She ran out and had a tall man put her on top of the Jeep to open the door, and she and the other guy pulled the driver and his dog out of the Jeep," a source told Page Six.
Russini has not yet commented on this story. It's unclear if she'll return to the spotlight before the start of the NFL Draft next Thursday.
