Patrick Vieira Calls Out Arsenal Stars After Manchester City Defeat - "Really Disappointed"
Manchester City reduced the gap at the top of the table to just three points after a victory over Arsenal. The result has intensified the Premier League title race and raised fresh questions about the Gunners' ability to close out the season.
The scoring opened early when Rayan Cherki found the net in the 16th minute. Arsenal responded almost instantly, with Kai Havertz leveling the match in the 18th minute. However, the momentum shifted back to the hosts in the second half, as Erling Haaland struck the winner from close range in the 65th minute.
Arsenal kept pushing for a late equalizer and nearly found it through Kai Havertz. After being picked out by a Leandro Trossard cross, the German sent his header over the bar, leaving the traveling side frustrated at the final whistle.
With City now within striking distance, the pressure shifts to Mikel Arteta and his squad to regain their form and silence critics questioning their composure in the final stretch of the campaign.
Vieira says Lack of Experience Cost Arsenal the Game
Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira didn't hide his frustration with the way the team let things slip. He felt the Gunners didn't have the same level of calm that City showed in the second half.
"Really disappointed with the Arsenal point of view because they played the game that was expected. But the difference was the experience and the importance of the game, the City players managed it much better, especially in the second half," he said.

Vieira also felt the momentum started swinging in Arsenal's favor in the second half when Eberechi Eze came agonizingly close to scoring, only to see his shot bounce off the inside of the post.
"City started well in the second half but with Eze hitting the post, they had the momentum but Haaland's goal made a huge difference."
Arsenal faces Newcastle United in their next game on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
