Lakers Fans Are Fuming After Luka Doncic's NBA MVP Snub

The NBA announced the three finalists for MVP on Sunday, and there was one name noticeably absent.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić, and San Antonio Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama are the three finalists for the league's most prestigious individual award, but fans were upset to see Los Angeles Lakers point guard Luka Doncic's name left off the ballot.

While all three players had standout seasons, Doncic led the NBA in scoring (33.1 points per game) and made field goals per game (10.8), and he ranked second in made 3s per game (4.0), third in assists per game (8.3), and sixth in steals per game (1.6).

Fans were quick to hit the comment section and protest the fact that Doncic, who the NBA declared eligible for offseason awards despite not playing in the league's mandatory 65-games threshold, was not up for MVP.

"Luka not even being a finalist is [expletive] disgusting," one fan wrote.

"Such [expletive] that Luka gets robbed like this," another fan stated.

"Luka not being here is pretty absurd to me," a third fan replied.

"No Luka this is so rigged lmao," one user scoffed.

"Luka got robbed😭🐐🐐," remarked another user.

"This league is so [expletive] up. So sorry for Luka about what happened to him again and again. Truly embarrassing league 🤡," one fan exclaimed.

As of Sunday night, Gilgeous-Alexander was the favorite to win MVP with -5000 odds, via BetMGM. Wembanayama was second with +2000 odds, while Jokic was third with +6600 odds.
