Simone Biles' Immediate Reaction to Former Coach's Career Move
Simone Biles is widely recognized as one of the most dominant gymnasts of all time. Since she broke out into the senior scene in 2013, she's consistently won at the highest levels in multiple events. She's one of the most prolific Olympians the United States have produced, winning seven gold medals, two silvers and two bronzes in three Summer Olympics.
While Biles' incredible athleticism and work ethic was key to her wins, her team also played a key role in her wins. Cecile Canquetau-Landi was a huge partner for Biles' career, with the 46-year-old Frenchwoman serving as Biles' head coach from 2017 until 2024.
While they're no longer working together, Biles maintains a good relationship with Canqueteau-Landi, who also competed in the 1996 Olympics. The 29-year-old gymnast reveals her strong relationship with her head coach through a social media post.
Simone Biles Congratulates Cecile Canqueteau-Landi's Georgia Appointment
Biles celebrated Canqueteau-Landi's appointment as the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs gymnastics team through an Instagram story. She shared a post by UGA gymanstics announcing the Frenchwoman's appointment as the head coach of the program.
Her message to the news is nothing short of an advertisement of Canqueteau-Landi's talents to Georgia fans. "If you can dream it, she can do it!!" Biles captioned the post.
Georgia's athletics program hopes Canqueteau-Landi's expertise will help the team finish better than their fifth-place finish in 2026.
Biles hasn't ruled out competing in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The gymnast will be 31 by the start of the Games if she decides to push through.
