Who Seahawks are signing as undrafted free agents

Once the 2026 NFL draft ended, the Seahawks immediately began trying to sign undrafted free agents to fill out their roster.

Seattle, however, ended the draft with 83 players on its roster, leaving room for only eight UDFAs, a much smaller total than usual.

Teams are allowed 90 players on their offseason roster, but Seattle gets an exemption for international player Federico Maranges, so the Seahawks can have 91 total.

Even if there may not be many UDFAs this time around, few Seahawks fans need reminding how some of the team's undrafted-free-agent signees through the years have gone on to have significant careers with the team, including receivers Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse, defensive lineman Michael Bennett and defensive back DeShawn Shead on the 2013 Super Bowl champs, as well as recent players such as safety Ty Okada, center Jalen Sundell, receiver Jake Bobo and running back George Holani.

All UDFAs sign standard three-year contracts that can include a signing bonus and guaranteed salary with a minimum base salary of $885,000 for the 2026 season if they make the final roster.

The UDFAs will join with Seattle's eight draft picks for the team's rookie minicamp this weekend. There will also be a host of players attending rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, usually 40 or 50 or so. Some of those names will likely leak out in the next few days, as well. Some tryout players often are signed to contracts following the minicamp.

Here's a running list of the UDFAs reported to have signed with the Seahawks.

Linebacker Devean Deal, TCU: The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder was also listed as a defensive end and started every game for the Horned Frogs in 2025 making 53 tackles with 8.5 for a loss and 3.5 sacks. He began his career at Tulane. His signing was reported by the NFL Network.

Tight end Lance Mason, Wisconsin: Mason's signing was reported by NFL reporter Aaron Wilson. Mason is listed at 6-4, 250 pounds and originally from Rockwall, Texas, the same hometown as Seattle receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. According to his bio on Wisconsin's website Mason made nine starts and played in all 12 games in 2025 with 400 total snaps and had 30 catches for a team-high 398 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Wrote NFL.com in its scouting report of Mason: Mason transferred from Missouri State to Wisconsin for his final college season and put together a solid showing with the Badgers. He lacks desired size and strength to play in-line and could be under consideration for H-back duties. He will need to improve his route-running and contested-catch consistency on the next level. Mason is not where he needs to be as a blocker, but he does have some decent reps to hang his hat on. He should get an opportunity in an NFL camp."

Defensive tackle Uso Seumalo, Kansas State: Seumalo is listed at 6-3, 340, projecting as a nose tackle. His signing was reported by the NFL Network. He spent the last four years at KSU after beginning his career at Garden City Community College.

Receiver Michael Briscoe, Cal Poly: Briscoe's signing was reported by his agency, Reign Sports Management. Briscoe is listed at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds and caught 43 passes for 779 yards and seven touchdowns last season. A scouting report from Sports Illustrated stated: "Michael Briscoe is a wide receiver with above average size, an athletic frame, and the ability to stretch the field vertically. His burst off the line of scrimmage is above average, with quality acceleration and top-end speed. His top-end speed allows him to create downfield separation once he stacks defenders. He does a good job of tracking the football downfield and can effectively high-point in some contested catch situations. Though his hands are strong, he does have some lapses in concentration when catching.''

Edge rusher Aidan Hubbard, Northwestern: Hubbard's signing was reported by NFL Draft on SI. Listed at 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, Hubbard had 20.5 sacks in his career at Northwestern to finish fifth in school history. NFL.com projected Hubbard as a potential sixth- or seventh-round draft pick, stating: "Hubbard is a good athlete with adequate burst, change-of-direction quickness and agility. His game against Oregon was a clear indicator that more size and strength are needed to survive run-defending rigors as a down lineman. A full-time spot as an odd-front edge rusher could be in his wheelhouse, though. He can chase down the action and has a nose for making tackles when he's close to the ball. His rush features athletic elements, but the toolbox needs filling. With more strength and rush development, Hubbard could develop into an average edge defender.''

Receiver Levi Wentz, Kansas: The Kansas football X site reported that the Seahawks had signed Wentz. It was also reported by his agency, Legacy Sports Complex. At Kansas, Wentz was a teammate of Emmanuel Henderson Jr., a receiver the Seahawks drafted in the seventh round Saturday. The KUSports.com offered this scouring report of Wentz: Wentz, a physical 6-foot-2 wideout, didn't play football until his senior year of high school and then played defense at Old Dominion before moving to wide receiver at Albany and then KU. In his lone year as a Jayhawk, he served as one of a variety of targets for (quarterback Jalon) Daniels and caught 16 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. He is joining the Seattle Seahawks, who drafted his fellow wideout Emmanuel Henderson Jr. in the sixth round and also have former Jayhawks Logan Brown and Bryce Cabeldue.''

Defensive lineman Marvin Jones, Jr., Oklahoma: Oklahoma's social media reported the signing of Jones on Sunday. The 6-5, 262-pounder played two years at Georgia, one at Florida State and then finished his career last year at Oklahoma where he made nine starts and played in all 13 games, with 21 tackles, two sacks and three QB hurries. His father, Marvin Sr., was a two-time All-America linebacker at Florida State and winner of 1992 Butkus and Lombardi Awards (also named 1992 Sporting News College Football Player of the Year) before playing 11 seasons for New York Jets.
