NBA Makes Jayson Tatum Announcement After Celtics Win Game 4
Jayson Tatum is back like he never left for the Boston Celtics. The six-time All-Star missed the first 52 games of the 2025-26 NBA season with a ruptured right Achilles tendon.
Many questioned whether he would return at full strength. Ten months after surgery, Tatum silenced every doubt. He returned on March 6 and averaged 21.8 points and 10.0 rebounds across 16 regular-season games. He logged 10 double-doubles in that span.
Tatum carried that momentum into the postseason, delivering a string of dominant performances against the Philadelphia 76ers.
On Sunday, he made history once more and helped Boston claim a 128-96 victory and a 3-1 series lead.
Tatum finished Game 4 with 30 points on 8-of-16 shooting. He shot 5-of-10 from 3-point range and a perfect 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds and 11 assists.
The NBA took to X after the final buzzer to commemorate a piece of Celtics franchise history. The league posted Tatum's highlights alongside his dominant stat line.
"JT SHINED IN GAME 4! ... He's the first player in Celtics franchise history to record 30+ PTS, 10+ AST, and 5+ 3PM in a postseason game " the NBA wrote on X.

Boston's record-breaking night extended beyond Tatum. The Celtics connected on 24 three-pointers, a new franchise record for a playoff game. Pritchard led all scorers with a playoff career-high 32 points, draining six triples off the bench. Tatum's fellow All-Star Jaylen Brown added 20 points and seven rebounds.
Any remaining questions about Tatum's form disappeared Sunday night in Philadelphia. He is playing the best basketball of his life after Achilles surgery.
Tatum and the Celtics look to finish the job at TD Garden for Game 5 on Tuesday.
