There's Already Talk Of A Trade For No. 1 Pick In 2026 NBA Draft

The Washington Wizards won the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft on Sunday afternoon. The Wizards had the worst record in the NBA in 2025-26. They had a 14 percent chance at getting the top-overall pick.

And they won it on Sunday.

But will they keep the pick?

The Wizards will probably hold at No. 1 overall and take A.J. Dybantsa. However, it's possible that the team could look to trade, too.

The Utah Jazz have the No. 2 pick.

Could the Jazz entice the Wizards to move down to the No. 2 pick, so they could get Dybantsa at No. 1?

It's already something that's being floated.

Trade for No. 1 overall pick floated already

Former NBA coach Avery Johnson thinks it's possible.

"If I'm the Utah Jazz, I'm on the phone right now with the Wizards," he said.

It could happen.

"If the Wizards are set on AJ at one, I wonder how much Danny Ainge and Ryan Smith are willing to trade to get AJ in Utah," one added.

"Do they go as far as offering Ace Bailey with 2 to get it done?" another wondered.

"Ainge's dream player and AJ has been in Utah for years. Just seems like the right storyline. Washington could be open years as they do not have an exact hole of need to fill. Peterson is just as good for them as AJ is. One to watch for sure," one shared.

Does it happen?
