Josh Hart Doubts Philly's Status as ‘Sports Town' After Knicks Sweep on Sunday

The New York Knicks got the job done and completed a sweep against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. Josh Hart was among the Knicks players who shot well from deep to help the team with a 144-114 win. Hart finished with 17 points and nine rebounds on 4-for-6 shooting from downtown.

Despite playing at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, the Knicks still received a lot of support from their own fans. The city is dubbed a "Sports Town" for their legendary fan base, but New Yorkers filled their arena on Sunday. People traveled from New York to watch their team, and there were a handful of noticeable Knicks fans. The players and coaches appreciated the fans' attendance as they moved on to the Eastern Conference finals.

The fans' attendance was something to talk about to the players after the game. When Hart was asked about it, he expressed his doubt about Philly being a "Sports Town."

"Everybody was begging Philly to not sell their tickets," Hart said.

"I used to think Philly was a sports town, I don't know if it is anymore."

Even star guard Jalen Brunson loved seeing Knicks fans travel to show their support. New Yorkers have not only been present against Philly, but some have also traveled to Atlanta when the Hawks faced them in the first round.

"It's a really cool feeling," he said. "It's something that I will always think is one of the coolest things in the world, when you hear Knicks fans in opposing arenas."

The Knicks shot 56.8% from deep, which was a significant factor in their Game 4 win. Miles McBride made the most 3-pointers, and he was also the most efficient for the night, going 7-for-9. Additionally, three other Knicks players shot at least 60.0%. Landry Shamet, Karl-Anthony Towns and Brunson had great performances from downtown.

New York was able to find great looks from downtown because the players sacrificed, according to Hart. During his postgame interview, the former Villanova forward told reporters how fun it was to share the ball with the team.

"Guys were sacrificing good shots for better shots, and when you do that the ball has energy and we were able to knock down shots. Playing a style like that is fun," he said.

Hart and the Knicks will wait to see which team, between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons, they will face in the conference finals.
