WNBA Star Sophie Cunningham Causes Stir With Cowgirl Outfit

It turns out Caitlin Clark isn't the only member of the Indiana Fever who's making headlines due to her love for country music.

Clark, the No. 1 pick from the 2024 WNBA Draft, attended Morgan Wallen's concert in Indianapolis this past Saturday night. Some fans questioned her decision considering she was just a few hours removed from losing to Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. Others pointed out that Wallen was caught using a racial slur in 2021.

Several WNBA fans said they were disappointed by Clark's actions last weekend.

"So many of her colleagues are Black women. But she's fine being cool with the bigot who freely uses the n word," one critic said.

"Caitlin Clark is beloved by most people despite her proximity to the type of whiteness that is inherently scary," another person wrote. "So why did she walk out with Morgan Wallen? It's so blatantly corny. Just be cool."

Roughly 48 hours after Clark went viral at Wallen's concert, a video of Sophie Cunningham belting out Garth Brooks' music surfaced on Instagram.

"She seems to be pretty freakin awesome," a social media user wrote.

"Sophie can have a second career singing," a fan commented.

"I am such a fan of Sophie," another person said. "I wish was there!"

Sophie is going viral for several reasons this week.

Not only is Cunningham showing off her skills as singer this week, she's proving she has what it takes to be a model.

Cunningham was featured in the 2026 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. Her rookie photo shoot took place in Fort Myers.

"It really was so fun," Cunningham said, via SI Swimsuit. "You just feel so empowered, and something I really do love about it is like, they choose ... different body sizes, shapes and sizes, different ethnicities, like they just like empower all types of women and it really was like frickin' awesome. It was awesome."

Cunningham should have no issue finding success during the post-WNBA chapter of her life.
