A Caitlin Clark Engagement Photo Is Going Viral, But It's Not Real

Despite what's being said online, Caitlin Clark didn't get engaged before Wednesday night's game between the Indiana Fever and the Los Angeles Sparks.

During the Fever-Sparks game, a social media account by the name of "Fever Updates" shared a photoshopped image of Clark getting engaged. The image, which now has over one million views, shows Connor McCaffery on a knee while holding an engagement ring.

Unfortunately, countless WNBA fans were fooled by this AI-generated image. In fact, this post received well over 200 comments in under 12 hours.

"Wow, so happy for this Caitlin," one fan commented.

"I'm happy for the couple, and wish great(er) things for them," a second fan wrote.

While it's nice to see people embrace Clark and McCaffery, they're not actually engaged.

Of course, that hasn't stopped people from speculating about Clark's love life.

On April 24, Clark and McCaffery celebrated their three-year anniversary. The All-Star guard posted a photo of them along with this caption: "three years with my fav you're the bestttt."

McCaffery, who played for the Hawkeyes from 2017-2023, had a coaching role with the Indiana Pacers before joining Butler's staff. However, he officially left the staff last month.

"End of an era! Forever grateful to Coach Matta for the opportunity that he gave me," McCaffery wrote. "Learned a lot and worked with great people – excited for what's next."

For now, McCaffery is on the sidelines cheering on Clark and the Fever.
