Seahawks announce preseason schedule
Along with unveiling their 2026 regular-season schedule Thursday, the Seahawks announced their three preseason games.
They will open preseason play against Dallas at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Lumen Field on KING; play at Tennessee at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, on Fox; and at Kansas City at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, on KING.
The Seahawks are expected to conduct joint practices with at least one of their preseason opponents as they have done the last two seasons, including in 2024 at Tennessee, and they could look to again hold some joint workouts with the Titans, who now are coached by Robert Saleh, a former Seahawks assistant.
The Seahawks are playing two teams in the preseason they are playing in the regular season - Dallas and Kansas City - something teams have long tried to avoid.
However, the NFL has taken a little more of a lead in scheduling preseason games in recent seasons.
Seattle's approach to the preseason might also mean it doesn't matter much since the Seahawks are likely to play few veterans for any length of time, probably using the games mostly to get a look at younger players and in basic schemes.
The last two seasons, the Seahawks used the joint practices - against Tennessee in 2024 and Green Bay in 2025 - as the occasion to get the most work for the veterans in the preseason.
Coach Mike Macdonald has said he prefers that to be able to get the work in a controlled setting - which means quick whistles to try to avoid injuries - while also being able to assure which scenarios and situations are run.
The preseason will also be played against the backdrop of the NFL Films documentary series Hard Knocks following the Seahawks throughout training camp.
