Paige Bueckers Not Panicking After Dallas Wings Lose 2 Straight Games

Paige Bueckers is not hitting the panic button just yet. The Dallas Wings won their season opener against the Indiana Fever. Since then, they have lost two straight, dropping to 1-2 on the 2026 season.

Dallas lost steam in the fourth quarter Thursday, falling 90-86 to the Minnesota Lynx at College Park Center. They also lost, 77-72, to the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Bueckers saw no cause for alarm.

"We've had actually, like, three pretty close ones to start," she said, via Moreau Sports Media Prod Co. on X. "We won the first one, and it's like, that's what this league is all about. Close games, learning how to finish."

Bueckers did her part. She led all scorers with 27 points on 7-of-13 shooting, connecting on 3-of-4 from deep. She also added eight rebounds and three assists across 31 minutes.

The reigning Rookie of the Year is coming out hot in her second season. She is averaging 20.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game through three appearances.

The Lynx had Dallas' number Thursday, however. Five Minnesota players finished in double figures. Natasha Howard led the way with a monster outing. She finished with 26 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.

Despite the tough loss, Bueckers remains optimistic. It is early, and the Wings are still finding their footing.

"Obviously, we're a new team," she continued. "... It's going to take time and reps, and it's only our third game of the season. We don't want to panic, but we also want to hold ourselves accountable to the standard that we want to set."

Bueckers continues to show she is wise beyond her years and carries the mindset of a true leader.
