Timberwolves' season ends with a thud in 30-point loss to hot-shooting Spurs
MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Timberwolves' season is over.
They were eliminated from the NBA Western Conference playoff semifinals by the San Antonio Spurs 139-109 at Target Center on Friday night in Game 6.
San Antonio shot 56% from the field (47% from three) and outrebounded the Wolves 60-29. The Spurs win the series 4-2 and will face the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference finals.
Stephon Castle scored 32 points for the winners, and De'Aaron Fox added 21 as they took the pressure off 7-4 center Victor Wembanyama (19 points).
Anthony Edwards and Terrence Shannon Jr. had 21 each for the Wolves, but Rudy Gobert, Jaden McDaniels and Julius Randle struggled mightily in their final game of the season.
