Washington Huskies men get Australian guard Tristan Devers, report says
Danny Sprinkle continues to mine the international market and the Washington men's basketball coach reportedly received a commitment from Australian guard Tristan Devers who becomes the seventh addition to join the new-look Huskies.
His agents Brian Jungreis and Menchie Spigler told DraftExpress Devers plans to play at UW during the 2026-27 season.
Two weeks ago, Washington landed 21-year-old Brazilian big man Wini Braga and officially signed Serbian sophomore Nikola Dzepina, who returns for a second season with the Huskies.
Devers, who turns 21 in July, is a 6-foot-3 Melbourne, Australian, native who played professionally with the Brisbane Bullets in the National Basketball League the past three seasons.
In 29 games during the 2025-26 season, he averaged 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists ad 16.1 minutes while shooting 41.0% from the field and 34.0% on three-pointers
Devers also played seven games with the Australian U-17 national team during the 2022-23 season and posted 4.3 points per game, 2.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
Washington has 12 scholarship players including transfers Parker Friedrichsen (Davidson), Steele Venters (Gonzaga), Ryan Beasley (San Francisco) and LeJuan Watts (Texas Tech) along with Mount Si High standout Lattimore Ford, Devers and Braga.
The Husky holdovers include Dzepina, Wesley Yates III, Lathan Sommerville, Jasir Rencher and Mady Traore.
The NCAA roster limit is 15 in Division I men's basketball.
Notes
- Franck Kepnang, who played the past three seasons at Washington, joined former UW guard Zoom Diallo and transferred Kentucky.
- Guards Desmond Claude Jr. and Courtland Muldrew, who entered the portal last month after playing last season at Washington, are still unsigned.
